Job Summary
.

The Network Engineer, IT Operations provides technical support for the hotel’s network systems. The incumbent analyzes problems, recommends and implements solutions as well as providing technical support on a 24/7 basis.

  • Manage application releases; Automate deployment tasks;
  • Maintain a constant focus on quality, rectifying any minor or major faults or documentation errors as discovered, while working to deadline.
  • Engage in system testing including unit, integration, regression, performance and security testing;
  • Work with the Internal and Outsourced IT organization to ensure the service provider meets business and technology standards and best practices for Server and Storage Infrastructure.
  • Evaluates and reports on performance trends in Infrastructure, working with the application owners and DBAs to understand application growth and roll-out;
  • Report on operations using functional audits and performance monitoring;
  • Create and maintain service catalogues, inventory, diagrams, specifications and configuration item data in document repositories and the computer management database;
  • Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as required by technology management.

Key Result Areas

Business

  • Work within an understanding of a project management framework to design, plan, test, implement and integrate various LAN/WAN systems, including: network switches and routers, virtual, Wi-Fi, Firewall and internet routing services;
  • Produce system specifications, assist with project planning, documentation and test plans;
  • Ensure all security, data-protection and data-privacy requirements are met to the best level possible;
  • Develop, deliver and maintain documentation pertaining to the administration, end-user support and technical management.

Customer Satisfaction

 

  • Collaborate with senior colleagues, contributing to the daily operations of infrastructure (wide, local and metro area networks, Internet);
  • Coordinate resources and provide hands on technical expertise to diagnose and resolve incidents or problems.

Process Improvement/ Productivity

  • Coordinate and control services throughout the supply chain and with colleagues to maintain regular programs for system patching, upgrades and enhancements.

 
Requirement
.

Working Experience

  • 5+ years experience of managing the delivery of enterprise class technical environment which is subject to internal and external audit.
  • 5+ years experience deploying and supporting enterprise class technology specifically or equivalent to Windows Server, Oracle DB, Virtualization (VMware),  SAN , Local and Cloud Backups (Backup Exec / Symantec Net Backup);
  • 5+ years experience of managing the delivery of enterprise class technical environment which is subject to internal and external audit.
  • Solid practical experience or knowledge of Internet / Networking technologies including as many of the following as possible, Ethernet, advance TCP/IP ( OSPF, BGP etc.), routing, firewall, switches, VPNs, Wi-Fi, Mail servers, DNS, OS Servers ( Windows 2203 / 2008,MS  SQL, Oracle),
  • End user and integration experience with network management, monitoring and operations tools, such as Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and other 3rd party software.

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Firewall, Switches, WAP, Routers Network Environment.
  • Technical knowledge background and abilities including experience with current Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, VPN, CCTV, and hospitality industry applications
  • Familiar with established standards such as ITIL.
  • Working knowledge of current hardware, protocols and standards, including:
  • HP3 PAR, Cisco, HP/Dell /, BM Services, UPS, Rack Systems – Manufacturer Certifications an asset;
  • TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs and subnetting, Routers, Switches, Acces Points.

 

Education

  • Related undergraduate college degree or equivalent work experience,
  • Required certifications include: CCNA, MCSE, VMWare
